You are going to break away all factions of your reality until you know nothing, except for the one who knows nothing. You are going to transcend your very being from a someone who is experiencing a physical world to a no one who is experiencing nothing. Yet, it is the experiencing of nothingness that will allow you to recognise your true nature in the absence of all things, distractions, beliefs, memories, values, experiences and preconceptions of the self. How can one experience nothingness? By being no one.
The only thing that is “real” to you is the painting, because it exists. You know the painting exists because you are able to experience it using your physical senses. You are able to see it, feel it, smell it, taste it and if it were to fall and hit the ground, you would be able to hear it. Your remembered experience of a physical flower is what dismisses your belief in the existence of the flower in the painting. This is not necessarily because the physical flower exists, rather it is because you believe it does. The following is the Oxford Dictionary definition of “belief”:
As far as the mind is concerned, there is no difference between the flower in the painting and the flower in the garden, for both stimulate the knowing of the concept of a flower. What we then interpret as our experience through our senses ultimately determines if we believe something to be real or not. However, what some people may believe to be real, others would consider as imaginary.
A belief is by definition the confidence in one’s own experience to determine what is real or not; whether or not you perceive something to be true is based on your own subjective experience. However, unless you have never been wrong about the true nature or reality of any thing in your life, you can understand that one’s own experience is not enough to determine the reality of an object or idea.
This is a simple example, yet it holds true whether or not the flower exists. The belief is not at all dependant on the friend’s experience of the flower, but rather the belief and trust they express in you. Even if the flower does not exist, as far as your friend is concerned, their belief holds true, and to them the flower is still real. To them, the flower is real even though you know it does not exist. The difference between you and your friend is the knowing of the flower’s true nature.
know: to have information in your mind as a result of experience or because you have learned or been told it.
Your experience of deceit may have been the realisation of a lie you once believed, or the belief in something that turned out to be false. Deceit is a tool that is used in all factions of life, whether it is to swindle individuals of their fortune or convince them to believe in something that is untrue. It is a tool that is most common and one that is definitely taken advantage of.
What if instead of voluntarily choosing to enter a virtual world, you were deceived and forced into it while you were unconscious? What if the virtual world you saw was as realistic as the one you know to be real, though you couldn’t tell the difference? What if you woke up, observed the experience of walking outside as well as picking out a flower from a garden and thinking “Ah, now this is a real flower!” What if you were deceived, and what you thought you knew to be true was all a lie?
The Knower does not believe, but rather knows the experience in which belief may or may not exist. The Knower simply knows what is observed. The Knower does not contemplate what is seen, The Knower simply knows the experience in which a thing may or may not be seen. The Knower does not know if a flower is real or not real, The Knower simply knows the experience in which a flower exists. The Knower does not know if a dream is real or not real, The Knower simply knows the experience in which a dream exists. The Knower does not know if what is known is true, only that it is known.
The Knower simply knows the experience. The Knower does not see, hear, smell, taste or touch, instead The Knower knows the experience in which seeing, hearing, smelling, tasting and touching exist as senses. The Knower does not experience, but knows experience. The Knower cannot do anything other than know.
The Knower knows not to dwell on thoughts, for they are as wavering as the clouds and as inescapable as death. The Knower does not and cannot think, but rather knows that a thought is being observed. The Knower simply knows that thought is being observed. The Knower does not exist within the five physical senses and thought, but simply knows the experience of sensing.
If a physical experience of pain arose, The Knower does not feel pain, The Knower simply knows the experience of having felt pain. If a thought appeared, wherein the contents incited sadness or joy, The Knower would not feel sadness or joy. Instead, The Knower would know the experience of sadness or joy. The Knower cannot experience heartbreak, though it can know the experience of heartbreak and know the experience of shedding tears. The Knower can know a thought that holds memories of a past relationship, and it can know a thought that holds the belief of inadequacy, though it cannot feel inadequate.
The Knower cannot be a man or a woman, but it can know experience of being a man or being a woman. The Knower is not a thing, for a thing can only exist within the experience, therefore The Knower is no thing. However, it can know a thought in which the concept and understanding of a thing exists.
The Knower does not experience a physical being, but rather knows the experience of a physical being. The Knower does not experience a thinking being, but rather knows the experience of thought. The Knower simply knows. In other words, The Knower knows the experience in which identity, beliefs, pain, emotions, feelings, senses, concepts and ideas, abstractions, memories and all else exist.
The Knower cannot change, but knows the experience wherein change exists. The Knower cannot grow, but knows the thought in which the understanding of growing exists. The Knower does not have a physical appearance, but rather knows the experience wherein appearances are able to be seen. The Knower is not alive, but rather knows a thought in which the concept of living exists. The Knower cannot know death, but rather knows a thought in which the imagined concept of death exists, for death has never been experienced.
The Knower cannot live or die, though it knows the experience of a living being that has never experienced death. The Knower cannot become depressed or suicidal, instead it knows the experience of a being who is depressed or suicidal. The Knower cannot do any thing other than the knowing of experience, whether it be physical or of thought.
The Knower does not believe they are a human being with thoughts and memories, but instead knows the experience of a human being who believes in the credibility of their memories and ownership of their thoughts. The Knower cannot believe in a God, but rather knows the experience of a being who does or does not believe in the existence of a God.
It is important to understand that what is perceived as your experience of being, is simply the knowing of an experience. The experience is not necessarily an illusion, but it is definitely not you. You are aware of it, therefore it cannot be you. You are aware of your thoughts, therefore you are not your thoughts.
The Knower does not assume that other beings share the same experience, but knows the experience in which assumptions are made. The Knower does not speak, but rather knows the experience in which the physical expression of speaking may or may not be expressed.
The Knower does not do any thing, rather it knows the experience in which things are done. The Knower does not decide any thing, but rather knows the experience in which a thing may or may not be decided. The Knower does not know between right and wrong, but rather knows a thought in which the concepts of right and wrong exist.
Perched upon the rickety stool, you recognise the ridiculousness of The Knower. Although you believe there is a fireplace behind you, based on both the vivid memory of having seen it and the warm embrace of your humble cabin, you don’t know that it is behind you. You know that you are able to know the memory of having seen a fireplace. You also know that you are knowing the experience of warmth, but what else do you know?
No thing can happen at any time other than now. Although the physical being within the experience might say “But I remember what I did yesterday, and I was definitely doing it!”, that is you knowing a thought in which the belief in a “yesterday” exists. This is no easy understanding, for it requires you, The Knower, to disavow all remembered experiences as no more than the knowing of a thought wherein a memory exists. A memory that holds no significance to you, The Knower. A memory that is no different than a passing thought that is observed; A memory whose significance you must be able to let go of completely.
When I mentioned that the physical being must be ready and fully able to let go of everything, I meant everything. This is the everything the physical being must learn to let go of in the pursuit of the something. The physical being within the experience might believe that they have countless memories that they can remember and that those memories hold significant meaning, but that is simply the knowing of a thought in which the notion of sentimentality is entertained.
The physical being must be ready to align themself with you, The Knower, and recognise the knowing of the experience, rather than the falsifiable experience of it. The physical being within the experience must be ready to align themself with The Knower, and recognise the knowing of an experience. This means that the physical being must recognise the knowing of the experience of emotions, rather than the belief that they are experiencing them.
Any time that is believed by the physical being to be known other than now, is simply the knowing of a thought that is still happening now. You have never experienced time, for it is not a thing you, The Knower, can experience. Rather, you know the experience in which a physical being observes the effects of time in the physical world. You are not a thing that changes in time. You are the knowing of a physical experience in which time is used to measure change. Therefore, time cannot affect you, The Knower. Time cannot affect you because time is subject to the experience, and the experience is subject to you, The Knower.
It may seem difficult to grasp the concept of no time, since it is all the physical being has ever believed in thus far. Instead of trying to imagine a world that is frozen in the now, wherein nothing changes, understand that it is impossible to catch the moment for it is so instantaneous, that by the time you find it, it is already gone. It is hard to conceptualise one moment in which you have always been, when the physical being believes that they remember being alive for so very long. However, try to understand that it was not the physical being being alive, but rather you knowing the experience of the physical being being alive. It was never the physical being within the experience that was knowing, it was you, The Knower.
Understand that any memory the physical being can possibly remember, is the knowing of a thought, known by the very same Knower that has always known and will forever know. The Knower does not change, for there is no time in which The Knower can change. The Knower does not weary for it does not have a physical body to experience fatigue. The Knower was never born in time, nor will it die in time. The Knower is both momentary and infinite. In the one moment of now, all things are known by you, The Knower.
It only takes you one moment to know the experience of a physical being. One moment where the knowing of a thought in which countless memories, beliefs and identities can be observed. One moment where the knowing of an experience of a physical being is observed. One moment is all it took for you, The Knower, to know the experience in which the physical being believed in the illusion that they were knowing, rather than being known by you, The Knower.
The Knower does not have the capacity of pondering the memories of yesterday, the happenings of today or the possibilities of tomorrow. However, The Knower knows the experience in which yesterdays, todays and tomorrows exist. You find discomfort in this realisation for it denies any memory you are able to remember, and any dream you are eager to pursue. You are beginning to recognise the everything you must let go of, in order to find your something.
You realise that in the remembering of a past, The Knower is knowing the experience in which a physical being is remembering a past. Similarly, in the pondering of the future, The Knower is knowing the experience in which a physical being is pondering the future. You look to the empty chalice that lays toppled to your left and vividly remember the night before. “How can the memory of yesterday be untrue? How can this experience of remembering be so convincing? How can this empty chalice remind me of a thing that I have never experienced?”
Although there are tokens present in the physical experience that remind the physical being of a memory, such as a photograph or a letter, you are knowing an experience in which a photograph or a letter seems to hold significant meaning. These memories, observed in a thought that is known by you, tell a story of a past, or predict the happenings of a future. Yet, they are being known by you, The Knower, now. It is a paradoxical concept that the physical being must come to terms with, in that it cannot be understood with the same understanding one would use in the unravelling of physical concepts with which they may or may not be familiar.
It is a joke of time that the physical being must understand, wherein the concepts of a past and a future are being observed now. It is like trying to see one’s own eyes with nothing but their eyes, and the eyes say “You cannot see me, for you need me to see!” Yet, they can look into a mirror and see their eyes. The mirror is to the eyes what now is to time. You are able to know experience in which the illusion of time exists in no time other than now.
I am by no means discerning the physical experience you are knowing as unintelligent, or incapable of convincing you, The Knower, that you are experiencing it. Instead, I am showing you that it has thus far succeeded in making the physical being forget the essence of your knowing. The experience you are knowing will keep finding a way to bring you back. It will tirelessly try to make you believe that you are experiencing a thing, instead of the knowing of it. Yet, you cannot believe any thing, for you do not have the capacity to believe, but only to know.
You will know a thought in which memories of the physical being’s childhood exist, memories of loved ones, memories of hardships and successes. You will observe the knowing of thoughts with sentimental meaning, but the physical being must not forget that you are simply knowing an experience in which the physical being exists, rather than experiencing one.
It is not the knowing of a physical experience, nor is it the experience that is the illusion. The illusion lies in the knowing of a belief that The Knower can ever exist within this physical experience. However, you are simply aware of it, thus it cannot be you. The experience is subject to you, The Knower, in the same way that a film is subject to the screen.
The past and the future exist only in the knowing of thought. Though the thought in which they are known will always happen now. You can know a thought of a memory of a past, but it remains as the knowing of a thought, and nothing else. You cannot do any thing other than the knowing of experience, whether it is physical or of a thought. Time exists within the experience of which you are knowing, meaning you, The Knower, are not bound by it. You know now, and in the same way, never. You are momentary, and in the same way, infinite. You have always known, and in the same way, will forever know.
The properties of you, The Knower, that have been established so far are what you are capable of doing, and when you are capable of doing. You are only able to know an experience, whether it is physical or of thought. Accordingly, you can only know an experience in one moment, happening now. You are only ever knowing an experience, now. But where are you? Where can you go and where have you been?
A place is a particular area in which things may or may not be. A place is also the concept or abstraction of such an area, wherein physical things may exist. You, however, are not a physical thing, but rather you are knowing the experience in which both places and things may exist.
If the physical whereabouts of a thing is a place, it follows that the non-physical whereabouts of no thing is no place; the whereabouts of no thing is no where. You are not a thing, therefore you are not any where. You are no thing and you are no where. Yet, you know the experience in which a thing can exist in a place, but you are not the experience. You simply know the experience in which concepts of physical things and physical places exist, bound by the limitations of time, but you are not the experience.
You have never travelled within a physical world, you have only known the experience in which a physical being may have a physical experience. You can never move between two points, because you have only known the experience in which a being who exists is able to move. You, however, are not a thing and are not any where. You are no thing that exists no where. You are motionless, you are timeless, you are boundless and you are eternal.
You are not a thing that is bound by time or space, making you momentary and boundless. Since you are not bound by the limitations of time, you are thus infinite, since no time has no beginning and no end. In the same way, you are not bound by space, and you are infinite. No thing exists no where, and no where does not have a space that can be occupied, rather it has no space at all. You are not bound by the limitations of physical space, for you do not, and cannot, exist in a physical place. You have no mass and you have no volume, for mass and volume are concepts that can only exist within the knowing of an experience in which a physical world exists.
You are no thing and you are no where. You know the experience in which a thing may or may not exist in a place. You know the experience in which a physical being may or may not move. You know the experience in which all things that exist are limited by time, though this experience is known, now; all experiences are known, now.
Yet, you are The Knower. You are The Knower that cannot be found. You are The Knower that is nowhere at all. You are The Knower, but The Knower does not have the capacity to search or to find. Should the physical being within the experience believe that they have found The Knower, it is simply that the physical being is believing, but The Knower cannot believe. You, The Knower, are only ever able to know.
You do not remember memories, but rather know the experience of thought, in which a memory may or may not appear. You do not feel pain and sorrow, but rather know the experience in which a being expresses pain and sorrow. You do not know right and wrong, but rather you know the experience in which righteousness and wrongdoings exist. You cannot, and do not have the capacity to desire, for all you are capable of doing is knowing. You cannot desire a thing, but rather you know the experience in which desire is expressed. You cannot feel hatred or jealousy, but rather you know the experience in which hatred and jealousy may or may not be expressed.
You cannot believe or disbelieve in a God, but rather you know the experience in which the idea of an All-Knowing entity God exists. You cannot judge, nor can you be judged, but rather you know the experience in which a physical being is able to judge and be judged. You are not and cannot be defined by a past, but rather you know the experience in which a past may or may not define a being who remembers.
You cannot and do not wait for any thing to happen, for you are only ever in one moment, thus you are always happening. You cannot and do not fear any thing, but rather you know the experience in which fear exists. You do not have the capacity of being hurt or feeling pain, but rather you know the experience in which a physical being experiences hurt or pain. You do not have an identity with memories, beliefs and values, but rather you know the experience of a being with memories, beliefs and values.
You are no thing, but you know the experience in which all things exist. All that is not The Knower, is the everything you must be able to let go of. That is, the everything you must forget, in order to find who is aware of the knowing. There is no thing that you can bring on the journey of finding. You cannot carry any thing at all on the road that leads to no thing at all.
An age-old concept that has fascinated philosophers and mathematicians for centuries is the likeliness of a thing to occur, or the probability of a thing. This is important to mention because of the doubtful nature of the mind. What is the probability that you are the one who will find this something? How can it possibly be you? You must understand that if the mind is doubting itself, and you know the experience in which the mind is observed, then you are not the mind.
You are not the mind, and the mind cannot doubt you, for the mind is subject to you. In the same way, you, The Knower, are not within the experience, therefore you cannot experience probability. What I am trying to say is that The Knower has nothing to worry about in terms of doubt, unless the physical being succumbs to the beliefs of the mind. Probability is defined by the Oxford Dictionary as:
That is, how likely is the sun to rise after it has set? How likely is the rain to fall during winter? How likely are you to be the one who finds this something that many can only ponder? How likely is this book to be the book that the physical being you know of needs in order for you to find this something? And finally, why is it that this book is being read, and not another? These questions only exist within the experience in which a physical being has the capacity to ask questions, yet they can never comprehend you, The Knower, so persistent curiosity is inevitable.
Before exploring the concept of probability, it is important to note that you, The Knower, are not bound by the probability of any thing. You are only ever knowing, and you are only ever knowing, now. The Knower cannot ponder the probability of a thing, but can know the experience in which a physical being may or may not ponder the probability of a thing.
The probability, or rather the lack of probability, of something is what allows for the development of a belief in regards to a thing happening, at all. For example, how likely is the physical being to believe that what was learned in the previous section, “The Knower”, is at all valid? How likely are you to know the experience in which out of the several billions of people, the physical being experiencing this book is the only one who is knowing an experience to which everyone belongs?
The Knower does not exist within the experience, nor can The Knower ever exist, for existing is subject to the experience. In the realisation that you are not a physical being, but the knowing of an experience in which a physical being exists, many problems concerning doubt will arise. However, it is important to remember that you are not a physical being who is aware of all things, but rather you know the experience in which a physical being is experiencing doubt.
When I refer to you knowing your ‘something’, I am not referring to the physical being reading this book, but The Knower, who is knowing the experience in which a physical being is reading. There are no others to know this experience, for the concept or belief that any one else can exist remains within the experience you are knowing. There is no probability or likeliness that you are the only one who is able to know, because there is no probability or likeliness at all. The probability of something happening is a concept exclusive to the experience you, The Knower, know. It cannot exist outside of the experience.
You are no thing, you are no where, and you are knowing now. The probability of you knowing an experience is not a quantifiable number, for you are only ever knowing the concept of “probability” when you know a thought in which probability can be pondered. You are only ever knowing of the concept of “probability” when you are knowing an experience in which the concept of “probability” exists. When are you knowing this experience? Now.
Do not be fooled by the delusion that is trying to assign a quantifiable probability to no thing, for it is impossible. This knowing of an experience is happening now, to no one, no thing, and it is happening no where. The probability of this happening is both impossible, and definite, which yields a paradoxical truth that will not help you at all in the search for comfort, but instead further confuse the physical being. There is no point in trying to comprehend the probability or likeliness of you, The Knower knowing this experience, being the only one who is able to know, because you are the only one at all. The Knower is the only Knower, and you are The Knower.
It may seem coincidental to have come upon the existence of this book, but it is not you who came upon it. You do not have the capacity to come upon any thing. Rather, you know the experience in which a thing may or may not be come upon. You know the experience in which a book may or may not exist. You know the experience in which an event may or may not be associated with the phenomenon that is a coincidence.
Remember, you are The Knower, and you are only ever knowing, now. If you happen to know any thoughts along the lines of: “What are the chances of me coming upon this book which just happens to know that I am The Knower, and not just another reader!” or “Is it just a coincidence that I was able to find this book or was I meant to find it?” try to understand that you are not the physical being who found the book, you are The Knower, knowing the experience in which a physical being finds a book. Do not ponder the significance of the experience at all, nor the nature of such an unlikely coincidence, for it is not a coincidence happening to you. It is a coincidence happening in the knowing of an experience.
As you place the Book of Han back on the heap of journals, you place yourself on the rickety, wooden stool. “Oh!” You realise, “I placed both the book and myself!” You are now frantically overthinking everything, believing that everything is a perfect “coincidence”. Be that as it may, these coincidences are not happening to you, because you are The Knower, and you do not have the capacity to experience anything, let alone coincidences.
To further clarify, coincidences may or may not happen in the experience known by you, The Knower. However, you are neither the experience nor are you within it. You are not within the experience, making you unable to experience the phenomenon that is coincidence. This is not to deny the existence or presence of coincidences in the physical world, but rather to demonstrate that you are not within the physical world. You are not within the experience in which coincidences may occur, so it would be invalid to ponder the possibility that what is happening right now, which is The Knower knowing, is a coincidence.
Once you try to contemplate the relationship between any concepts belonging to an experience and yourself, The Knower knowing an experience, only paradoxical answers will arise. The experience, or the concepts within the experience, cannot comprehend the nature of something that is non-experiential. The experience cannot comprehend the nature of you, The Knower, for you are non-experiential. Paradoxes will arise when the experience attempts to comprehend all that is non-experiential.
Do not dwell on the impossibility or certainty of concepts belonging to the experience, for you are unable to be quantified or comprehended, since you are no thing, no where, happening now. You are not within the experience, and the experience will never be able to comprehend you, The Knower.
To ponder the likeliness of coincidence or probability that The Knower is knowing at all will only bring your awareness back to the experience you have transcended. You, The Knower, are not able to know coincidence or probability, only the experience in which coincidences or probabilities may or may not exist. You are not within the experience, making you unable to experience any thing at all, including the recognition of coincidence and probability; you are only ever knowing the experience, not experiencing it.
You know the experience in which a physical being is able to recognise coincidences in the picking up of a book, but you are not within the experience, so there is no coincidence to recognise. What if this was not a coincidence at all, but a conscious decision you made to read this book? How can The Knower, who is only ever capable of knowing, choose anything? How can The Knower, who is only ever capable of knowing, decide anything?
For a coincidence to be valid, there must exist a spectrum of time along which things may or may not happen, but The Knower exists in no time. You, The Knower, are knowing the experience in which a physical being is able to recognise a coincidence in the picking up of the book, but you are not within the experience. It is inconsequential to try and relate concepts belonging to the experience to The Knower, since the experience is subject to The Knower, not the other way around.
You ogle at the tangled mess that sits upon your wooden table. “I choose to pick up this candle” you mumble as you pick up the burning candle. It is not that the physical being is not able to make decisions, but simply that you are not the physical being. The Knower knows the experience in which a physical being makes a decision to pick up a burning candle. You are The Knower, not the physical being.
Although you are aware that you are The Knower, that can only ever know, it may be distressing to realise that The Knower cannot, and does not make decisions. You, The Knower, do not have the capacity to make choices or to use decisiveness in any way or manner. This is one of the hardest realisations to come to terms with, one that supposedly disavows a physical being’s right to freewill. However, if distress and affliction arise, remember that you are not the physical being experiencing them, but The Knower knowing the experience in which distress and affliction may or may not arise.
You are unable to make decisions, instead you know the experience of thought, wherein the mind alludes to the making of a decision. Although the physical being may remember previously making decisions, followed by necessary actions so as to bring the decisions to fruition, it was not you who made the decision. You are The Knower, unable to make any thing. You are, however, knowing the experience in which a physical being believes they have the capacity of making decisions.
This is not a suggested philosophy you can choose to embody, whereby you accept all decisions as inevitable, because The Knower does not know how to accept anything, only how to know. Rather, you are only ever knowing the experience in which philosophies may or may not exist, but you are not within the experience. If there are feelings of distress, remember that you are knowing the experience in which feelings may or may not express distress, but you are not the experience. You are not the experience, nor do you have the capacity to comprehend decisiveness, only the knowing of an experience in which decisiveness may or may not be used.
It is not uncommon to fall victim to the menace of doubt, which will tirelessly challenge the physical being’s efforts in aligning themself with The Knower. You are only ever knowing the experience in which doubt may or may not exist. You do not have the capacity to experience doubt, in the same way you do not have the capacity to experience belief. You only know the experience in which a physical being may or may not experience doubt.
All that is happening, is just happening. You do not have the capacity to know any thing other than the knowing of experience. If you ever ponder any thing, know that it is not you who is pondering. You are only ever knowing the experience in which a being may or may not choose to ponder.
But what if the physical being within the experience forgets? What if the physical being forgets that you are The Knower, who is only ever knowing? How can they remember?
The Knower is knowing the experience of a physical world and knowing the experience of the mind. There is no time in which The Knower is knowing, for The Knower is only knowing now. That is, time is subject to the experience. Yet, such experience seems to have the capabilities of elongating the one, eternal moment of now, into what we know to be memories, or imagined foresight into the future. The physical being may doubt the reality of your transcendence with questions similar to “How do I know I’m not going insane?”, “What if I’m just hallucinating?” and “Is what I’m seeing real?”
In this instance, The Knower is knowing the experience of a physical being dreaming. The Knower does not dream, nor does The Knower recognise a difference between reality and a dream, for The Knower is only able to know the experience. Therefore, The Knower is knowing the experience of a physical being dreaming, but you are not the physical being, you are The Knower.
In the knowing of the experience of the physical world, the physical being may fall victim to the menace of doubt, more often than not. The physical being may doubt themself, as well as believe that they are not strong enough to fulfil the alignment this journey requires. Yet, it is important for the physical being to remember that The Knower cannot know belief, but only the experience in which beliefs may or may not exist. This means, that should the physical being assume The Knower is doing any thing that is not the knowing of an experience, the physical being has simply forgotten the eternal essence of The Knower. The physical being has forgotten the essence of The Knower, for The Knower can only ever know.
You are The Knower, who does not exist in time, but rather no time. You are The Knower who is not a thing, but rather no thing. You are The Knower, knowing the experience in which a physical world exists. You are knowing the experience in which a physical world exists, wherein such a world would have the necessary beliefs and deceptions to keep you in it. That is, the physical being would believe The Knower is experiencing a physical world, yet by definition of The Knower, The Knower only knows. Therefore, The Knower can know the experience in which a physical being believed they were a physical being, but will forever be the knowing of such experience.
The experience with which the physical being may feel extremely familiar, only feels familiar because it is all The Knower has ever known. That is, the familiarity the physical being experiences is actually the familiarity you, The Knower, possess in regards to only ever knowing. In the same way you know the experience of being yourself, you are The Knower, who only knows. That is, the immeasurable familiarity the physical being has with themself, for no reason other than their very being, is the expression of how well The Knower may know the experience. The Knower may know the experience, but never fall into the experience. The Knower may never become a part of the experience.
In the knowing of such a vivid and convincing experience, the physical being may forget the essence of The Knower, yet it remains The Knower who is knowing the experience of the physical being forgetting. It is not that you are forgetting the essence of The Knower, for it is you who is The Knower, but rather you are knowing the experience in which a physical being forgets the essence of The Knower.
It only takes one moment to remember the essence of The Knower, for it is in the one moment of now that The Knower is knowing. Yet, there are many mechanisms within the experience known by you, The Knower, that seem to persuade the physical being that you, The Knower, are within the experience. The familiarity you have with the knowing of the experience is in itself the essence of The Knower, yet in the knowing, the physical being can forget that you are The Knower.
The physical being must align themself with what it truly means to be The Knower, casting aside any beliefs or doubts, preconceptions or any thing that is not knowing of the experience. Unfortunately, the experience will always try to satisfy the physical being into being able to let go of the essence of The Knower that is knowing. It will always try to satisfy the physical being into being convinced that The Knower is experiencing an experience, but you cannot experience any thing, for you are The Knower, and you can only ever know.
To say that you are familiar with this experience would be an understatement. You are so familiar with this experience because you have only ever known this experience, meaning you know nothing else. Yet, it is a sense of familiarity that is almost impossible to detach from, unless The Knower knows the experience in which a physical being is in alignment with The Knower. That is, the physical being from within the experience has aligned themself with the unfathomable comprehension of The Knower. For example, the physical being can never be The Knower, nor can they comprehend The Knower, but they can accept that they can never comprehend The Knower. The physical being can never comprehend The Knower because they are subject to The Knower.
An interesting illusion the experience will impose on the physical being is how familiar a person is with their physical experience. However, the familiarity a physical being feels with their physical experience is actually the familiarity you, The Knower, hold in regard to knowing, as it is all The Knower has ever been capable of. The physical being must understand that their illusive familiarity has the capability of being fabricated in one moment, whereas The Knower has only ever known. For example, The Knower can know the experience in which a physical being may believe they are extremely familiar with the physical body they are experiencing, but it remains that you are only ever knowing.
Although it seems that you are extremely familiar with this quaint bar and its quiet mumblings, you are The Knower, and you do not have the capacity to be familiar with anything other than the being of The Knower. You are not familiar with this bar, rather you are The Knower, knowing the experience in which a physical being is dreaming about a bar, a bar with which they are extremely familiar. The illusion is not how familiar the physical being is with the bar, but rather how illusive the experience can be, so much that the physical being believes the physical experience of dreaming is any different from the physical experience of reality.
The physical being from within the experience must come to terms with their inability to comprehend The Knower, which is no thing that can be understood. The physical being from within the experience must come to understand their limitations and that should there be a knowing of them, it would be no where, in a place they do not know how to find, for it is not a place that can be found. That is, the physical being cannot see what they cannot see, nor can they understand what they cannot understand, so it is the acceptance of this limitation I am pertaining to. The physical being within the experience must surrender the will to know, for they are unable to know The Knower, for it is impossible for the experience to know The Knower.
When I allude to a physical being who does anything, whether it be aligning themself, or coming to terms with the essence of you, The Knower, I am speaking of the physical being of which you are knowing. The physical being which you are only ever knowing within the experience. That is, if I said to let go of all beliefs, The Knower would not be able to, for The Knower does not have the capacity to believe. However, the physical being would have the capacity to do a thing within the experience, allowing you, The Knower, to know the experience in which a physical being is doing something suggested by this book.
It is impossible for the experience to know The Knower because the experience is subject to The Knower, not the other way around. Though the experience can create the illusion of a physical being who is able to comprehend The Knower, it is you knowing the experience in which a physical being believes that they are able to comprehend or be The Knower. Yet, they cannot be The Knower, because you are The Knower, and you are not a physical being.
Because of the familiarity expressed by your very being of The Knower, The Knower is able to know the experience in which a physical being may believe they are The Knower. However, it is only when the physical being forgets that they cannot be The Knower, that you, The Knower, will know the experience in which a physical being may believe they are experiencing knowing as opposed to being known as an experience. In other words, the physical being may forget that they are unable to be The Knower, for they exist within the experience, yet it will still be you, The Knower, who is knowing the experience in which a physical being forgets their limitations.
It is not that The Knower is knowing an illusion, wherein the concepts and ideas of an experience are explored, but rather The Knower is knowing an experience, wherein the concepts and ideas of illusions are explored. Therefore, it is very easy for the physical being to find perfect reasoning for the doubt they may experience in regards to their own existence. It is easy for the physical being to accept that they are able to exist independent of The Knower knowing, although the physical being cannot exist unless the experience in which they exist is known by you, The Knower.
It is also very easy for the physical being to find a reason within the experience that satisfies their inability to comprehend The Knower, ultimately resulting in a disbelief that such a being, you, may even exist. Yet, even in the disbelief and assertion that you do not exist… the physical being would be correct, for you are not able to exist at all, wherein lies a joke. Luckily for you, The Knower, you are only ever knowing, and you do not know reasoning or disbelief, but rather the experience in which reasoning and disbelief may or may not exist.
All The Knower is able to do is know, and the physical being must surrender themself by accepting that they are subject to the experience, and the experience subject to The Knower. You, The Knower, only ever know, and should the physical being feel a familiarity with their physical body, it would be an illusion imposed by the experience. It is an illusion for it is not how familiar the physical being is with the experience, but rather how familiar The Knower is with knowing, should The Knower have the capacity to be familiar with any thing, yet, you are only ever knowing.
You are only ever knowing, now. The only truth you are able to comprehend, is simply your being of The Knower. Yet, The Knower cannot know truth, but rather The Knower knows the experience in which the concept of truth may or may not be expressed. Although the experience can seem to associate a truth with The Knower knowing, it is only from within the experience that it is known that truth is comprehended.
There is no truth that is external to the knowing of the experience, for truth is subject to the experience, not the other way around. Although the physical being within the experience may believe that The Knower is or is not true, it is from within the experience that the limited understanding of truth is being superimposed over The Knower. Yet, the physical being can never experience any thing that will allow for the unfathomable understanding of you, The Knower, for you are simply unfathomable.
“There is much to tell me that all of this is illusion, but who is it telling? I know that this is but a dream, but who is the one knowing it other than me? Would it ever matter, the knowing of a dream and the knowing of reality, if not for the infinite similarities that both so convincingly share? There is no benefit in the recognition of a dream as much as there is no benefit in the recognition of reality, for simply recognising the nature of ones experience does not so much as end it, but more so make them aware. So what is the point? Why do I know that this is a dream? Why do I know that I am yet to wake? What will it matter when I open my eyes?” You leave the bartender speechless for a moment, as they wipe the bar of the yellow grog.
Though you are unfathomable, the physical being within the experience will always attempt to fathom you, even after accepting the unfathomable nature of your essence. The physical being within the experience will always attempt to find a reason to remain in the physical experience, for it is afraid of what it cannot know, which is you, The Knower. The physical being within the experience will be presented with many mechanisms to satisfy its illusory existence, yet it remains that you, The Knower, will only ever know the experience in which a physical being is satisfied with the experience.
The Knower only knows the experience in which a physical being is able to comprehend physical concepts within the experience. Therefore, the physical being cannot know or understand what they do not know or understand. The physical being is subject to the experience, and the experience is subject to The Knower, yet you are The Knower. You are The Knower, and should the physical being ever experience the menace of doubt in regard to The Knower knowing the physical being’s experience, it is simply because the physical being within the experience has forgotten the essence of The Knower. You cannot forget the essence of The Knower which is to simply know, because you do not have the capacity to forget, but only to know. You simply know, and that is all.
The Knower cannot know belief, for belief is subject to the experience. The Knower cannot know doubt, for doubt is subject to belief. The Knower cannot know a physical being, for a physical being is subject to the forgetting of the essence of The Knower. You are not able to believe you are not The Knower, but you are able to know the experience in which a physical being has forgotten the unfathomable essence of The Knower. Forgetting occurs when the physical being forgets the unfathomable essence of The Knower, which is to simply know, now.
There is no time when you can forget the essence of The Knower, for it is you, but it is possible that The Knower is knowing the experience in which a physical being has forgotten the unfathomable essence of you. In the forgetting of the essence of you, the physical being may attempt to remember The Knower, forgetting that it is impossible, only then would the physical being become aware of the illusion of The Knower being able to forget.
Yet, The Knower does not have the capacity to forget, in the same way the sun does not have the capacity to be any thing other than the sun. The Knower does not have the capacity to forget, in the same way the clouds in the sky cannot be any thing other than clouds in the sky. Why would the clouds even try to be any thing else? They simply are! In the same way, The Knower would not be able to be or want to be anything else, for The Knower simply is! It may seem extremely obvious that The Knower cannot forget, yet it is the knowing of an experience in which a physical being forgets that is the illusion, not the experience itself.
A misconception about the nature of the experience is that it is all a hallucination. This can be confusing because in the same way a physical being experiencing hallucinations can believe that dragons are real, they can believe The Knower is not knowing. Yet, hallucinations exist within, and are subject to, the experience, not the other way around. You are not able to hallucinate, you are only able to know the experience in which a physical being may or may not experience hallucinations.
One of the most common forms of experiential hallucinations physical beings are familiar with are dreams. In the same way The Knower cannot experience a physical world, The Knower cannot experience a dream. Rather, The Knower knows the experience in which a physical being may or may not be experiencing a dream. The dreaming state is subject to the experience, therefore The Knower can never know a dream, only the experience in which a dream may or may not exist.
Upon awakening from a dream, a physical being tends to find reassurance in the fact that what was remembered was simply happening in a dream, thus relieving themself of the ramifications therein. Although the physical being experiences a dream, The Knower knows the experience in which a physical being may or may not experience a dream. In the same way, The Knower knows the experience in which a physical being identifies the experience remembered from a dream as a hallucination, but The Knower cannot hallucinate.
Both the dreaming state and the waking state work similarly in convincing the physical being that the remembrance of their experience is the only reality. The dreaming state and waking state exist to prevent the physical being within the experience from seeking what cannot be sought, The Knower. It is not because the experience necessarily dislikes The Knower, nor is it afraid of knowing The Knower, the experience simply does not and cannot know The Knower.
The experience is subject to The Knower, therefore it can never know The Knower. However, although the physical being can never know The Knower, the physical being is able to align themself with the understanding that they cannot understand The Knower, for they are, like the experience, subject to The Knower. Yet, they are able to surrender their beliefs in the pursuit of aligning themself with the essence of The Knower.
Though the physical being can never know you, The Knower, they can align themself with the essence of you. That is, the essence of you is that you are not bound by time, thus making you momentary, yet eternal. The physical being can also understand that you are not bound by space or physical limitations, thus making you boundless, and infinite. Although the physical being understands that their experience is finite and bound by both time and space, they must come to accept that The Knower is unfathomable. The physical being must understand that any attempts to comprehend The Knower will be met with failure.
Though the physical being may choose to align their experience with the understanding of the essence of you, it is possible that the physical being may fall victim to the menace of doubt. It is possible for the physical being to fall victim to the menace of doubt through the experiencing of hallucinations and how familiar and real the experience may feel to the physical being. Yet, it remains that you are only ever knowing the experience in which a physical being may or may not believe in the reality of their experience.
Should the physical being expose themself to the vivid feeling of experiencing a physical world through either the waking state, dreaming state or other forms of hallucinations, they must remember to align their understanding of the essence of you, The Knower, with their experience. That is, the physical being must understand that although it feels like they are experiencing a physical world, they understand that it is The Knower knowing the experience in which a physical being is able to experience a physical world. In other words, the physical being must align their observation of the physical world in the same way The Knower knows the experience, with no judgements or assumptions.
The physical being must come to terms with the surrender of their being as the experience being known, rather than the being who experiences. It can be very difficult for the physical being to let go of their beliefs about what they are and what they are capable of, but the physical being must simply not believe. It can also be very scary to not know any thing about The Knower, yet comply with the understanding that The Knower is no thing, no where and only ever knowing, now. It can be scary because if The Knower is knowing the experience, meaning the experience is subject to The Knower, even if the experience disappears and ceases to exist, The Knower remains. Yet, it is this very disappearance of the experience you, The Knower, must be aware of, for The Knower is only ever knowing, but what can The Knower know if there is no experience to be known?
The physical being must know that although they are able to feel the sensation of pain, The Knower can never be wounded from the experience. The Knower only knows the experience in which the concept of physical pain may or may not be experienced, but The Knower will never experience pain. Although the physical being is trying to align themself with the essence of you, The Knower, it will be very difficult to let go of the belief that pain is a real experience, rather than the knowing of experience.
It is a ridiculous feat to conquer the intimidation brought about by the experiencing of fear and pain, but the physical being must not be afraid of any physical consequences. The physical being must understand that although the experiencing of fear and pain may feel extremely authentic and real, they cannot fear any thing. Instead, they must trust their understanding of the essence of The Knower, wherein The Knower becomes imperishable, deathless and immortal, for pain, death and mortality are all concepts subject to the experience. It is important for the physical being to align themself with the essence of you, The Knower, so that you are able to know the experience in which fearlessness is expressed, ultimately allowing the physical being to let go of any fears they may possess.
The physical being must be prepared to experience absolutely anything. The physical being must be prepared to see absolutely anything. The physical being must be prepared to find absolutely anything. The physical being must be prepared to always remember the essence of The Knower, and harness the understanding that is the indestructibility of The Knower. The physical being must be completely conscious of the invisible presence of you, The Knower, and understand that they will never be able to find you, but only because you have found them, by simply knowing the experience in which they exist.
The physical being must be prepared to see the devil in the dark, understanding that it is part of the experience which is not able to harm or affect you, The Knower. The physical being must be prepared to see the most beautiful sight that could ever be seen, as well as the most horrifying, for it is the ultimate acceptance of any experience which implies a perfect alignment with the essence of The Knower. It is important that the physical being is not at all afraid or fearful of nightmares or horror films, but instead accepting that they are all subject to the experience, and are unable to harm or scare you, The Knower. You do not have the capacity to fear, yet it is the physical being who needs to face their fears and allow themself to become aligned with the essence of you.
The physical being must be prepared to experience a dream where they fly through the skies, and let go of the belief that it was a dream, as well as the belief that the dream state is less real than the waking state. The physical being must simply remember the experience of flying through the skies, understanding that the remembering is occurring through the observation of thought, wherein memories are remembered. Yet, you cannot remember nor experience a dream, but only know the experience in which a physical being may or may not remember the experience within a dream.
You are The Knower, you are no thing, no where, only ever knowing, now. Yet, you are knowing the experience in which a physical being must come to terms with the unfathomable essence of you, and align their physical experience and journey with the same fearlessness you possess, by the very nature of being The Knower. How can a physical being overcome the barrier of fear? How can a physical being fear absolutely nothing? How can a physical being accept absolutely anything?
The concept of fear is subjective, in that it exists differently in the mind of each physical being. Although the idea of fear may be the objective response to a thing that is scary or horrifying, each physical being responds differently to different things. Fear is a spectrum along which physical beings may or may not find themselves. Yet, on the pursuit of aligning one’s physical experience with the essence of The Knower, the spectrum of fear must be completely disregarded as no more than a simple concept that exists within the experience.
A physical being cannot encounter a demon from hell, but can most definitely fear the idea of a demon after having watched a horror film, or after having read a scary book. Fear comes in many forms, so much so that a thing does not have to be inherently scary to cause fearfulness in a physical being. A physical being could have just as many irrational fears as they do rational fears. Yet, in the pursuit of aligning one’s experience with the essence of you, The Knower, the physical being must be prepared to face an immeasurable level of fear and understand that The Knower is not able to be harmed.
The physical being does not necessarily have to go on adventures looking for horrifying experiences, but rather they should be prepared to accept absolutely anything. Should the physical being experience a nightmare, it is important to understand that in the same way their waking being was never harmed, the physical experience will never be able to harm The Knower. The physical being must be prepared to know that although the nightmare occurred in the dream state, it was a remembered experience that is just as real as remembered experiences in the waking state.
The physical being must not actively seek to conquer fears, experience harm or face death, but rather be prepared for you, The Knower, to know no experience at all. No knowing of experience does not mean the physical being dies, but simply that The Knower, you, is not knowing the physical experience. Instead, in the absence of an experience, The Knower is knowing no thing. The physical being must come to terms with surrendering their fears in order for The Knower to know no thing, wherein the knowing of no thing will allow The Knower to see what remains in the absence of the experience. Unfortunately, The Knower cannot know itself, for it is not able to be known, but only able to know.
So far, the properties of you, The Knower, are that you are momentary, yet eternal. You belong to no space, though you are infinitely vast for you are not bound by physical limitations. You do not exist, for a thing to exist, it must belong to the experience in which the concept of existing… exists. You are also not bound by time, for the concept of time exists within the knowing of an experience, a knowing that is happening now. You are no thing, you are no where and you are not able to do any thing, other than to be aware of the knowing of an experience, whether it is physical or of the mind. This begs the question… who is the one that is aware?
It has already been established that you do not have an identity, but rather you know the experience in which a being is associated with an identity. Similarly, you are not a person, people and you do not have a name. Rather, you know the experience in which a person can exist among others of the same kind, each with their own name. For a “who” to exist, there must be an experience to whom a being may belong, but you are not a being experiencing any thing. You are, however, knowing the experience in which a being may be referred to in question with the pronoun “who”.
You cannot be associated with a gender, but you are knowing the experience in which the concept of gender exists. You do not have a physical body, rather, you are knowing the experience in which a being traverses a physical world with a physical body. You do not have the capacity to think, but rather you are knowing thought, in which identities, memories and beliefs may or may not appear. You do not have a history, but rather you are knowing thought in which the memory of a history may or may not appear.
You cannot be referred to as a “who”, for you are not a “someone”. You do not have an identity, you do not have a physical body and you do not have a name. You are no body. You do not have a past and you do not have a future, for you are only ever knowing the experience, now. You are knowing, now. You are no one, although you are knowing the experience in which a someone may exist.
“Why” is used in questions to ask for the purpose of some thing, yet you are no thing. In the same way, “why” is used in question to ask for a reason of some thing, yet you are no thing. You are incapable of “having” a purpose, rather you are knowing the experience in which things may or may not have purpose. You are incapable of having a reason or a purpose, rather you are knowing the experience in which a thing may or may not have a reason or a purpose.
To know how a thing is, you must find a way or manner to explain the process through which an assertion is attained. Luckily for you, you have just finished reading the very assertion I am pertaining to. That is, you have just finished reading up to this specific section of the book, which has thus far explained the very “how” you may or may not be pondering. If you are The Knower, and there is no experience to be known, The Knower remains. Yet, The Knower cannot know itself for it is no thing, no one, no where, for no reason and only now. Yet, in the absence of any thing, you remain, how? It is because you are aware of The Knower, meaning you cannot be The Knower, in the same way The Knower cannot be The Believer.
You are no thing, no one, no where, for no reason and only ever aware, now. You are awareness, therefore there is no knowing that you can be aware of that will help you be more aware. The knowing is subject to your awareness, not the other way around. You are awareness, being aware of the knowing of an experience, an experience of the six senses, but you are not the experience.
There is no thing that awareness can be aware of to make it more aware. There are no different levels of awareness one may attain, only one constant, infinite, eternal yet momentary state of awareness. The concept of higher and lower states of a thing exist only in the awareness of the knowing of the experience in which higher and lower states of a thing may exist. You are not a thing, nor are you within the knowing of the experience in which a thing may or may not be, for you are the awareness of it.
Any question to query the nature of awareness can never be absolute for it is from within such an experience that the question arises, but the awareness is aware of the experience. The experience is subject to the awareness, not the other way around. The true nature and essence of pure, unobstructed awareness can never be understood, for the concept of understanding exists within the experience of which you are aware. The concept of understanding is subject to you, not the other way around. Any concept, idea, question, experience, or thing from within the experience is subject to you, not the other way around.
You are awareness, aware of knowing and of awareness, but you are not separate from the knowing. Where does the knowing come from, in order for awareness to become aware of it? No where! The knowing comes from no where. For a thing to be any where it must exist within the experience in which a thing may or may not be in a place, but experience is subject to knowing, just as knowing is subject to awareness, not the other way around.
If you had to find nothingness, the simplest place to look for it would be where there is no thing. It is in the absence of all things, where no thing exists. Where is the absence of all things? No where. What does the path to nothingness entail? To not see any thing! Luckily for you, The Awareness, if the physical being of which you are aware chooses to close their eyes, you will become aware of an experience in which a physical being closes their eyes. In other words, you will become aware of nothing. Although thoughts may still appear, the physical being must learn to focus on neither the senses nor the thoughts, so that you, The Awareness, can become aware of absolutely nothing.
Although you may have an understanding of your being, awareness, that is limited by the fleeting nature of the mind, you do not need the mind to be aware. You do not need the mind to be. In other words, the mind is to the experience, what the experience is to The Knower, what The Knower is to you, The Awareness. Similarly, The Awareness is to The Awareness what you are to you.
There is no thing that The Believer can believe to make you, The Awareness, more aware. There is no thing that The Knower can know to make you, The Awareness, more aware. There is no thing that The Awareness can be aware of to make you more aware. There is no thing left to learn, for you have shattered all the barriers from the one who believed to the one who is aware, you. What can be done, however, is for the physical being within the experience of which you are aware to align themself with the nature of you, The Awareness.
This is not to say that you, The Awareness, can become conscious. You are only ever aware. The physical being within the experience of which you are aware must become conscious of the nature of you. The physical being can only align themself with your nature, for they cannot be aware of you, but only understand from within the limitations of the mind a finite definition of awareness.
What can you do? Be yourself. In other words, all you can be is awareness, so it is irrelevant to try and be any thing else. However, what can the physical being within the experience do? Nothing. Believe nothing, assume nothing, fear nothing, search for nothing, think nothing, do nothing and be nothing. Once the physical being surrenders the will to be something, they will become nothing.
The physical being must come to the realisation that although hallucinations may be experienced within the experience, there is no thing that could harm or hurt you, for you are not within the experience. Whether it be a horrific nightmare, or a frightening experience in the waking state, the physical being must remain completely immune to fear. The physical being must come to the realisation that although they cannot ever comprehend you, The Awareness, they can accept your unfathomable nature.
Yet, in the remembrance of nothing, the physical being understood everything. The physical being understood the joke of remembering nothing, for there truly was nothing to remember, ever, at all. The physical being understood that I, The Awareness, was aware of the knowing of the experience from no where, so much that they accepted it was ridiculous to even look, yet it was the very search that allowed them to find nothing, wherein I was able to become.
In the same way that there is nothing to remember, there is nothing to wait for. There is nothing that will make the physical being become a better person, or find a reason to keep going, other than the simple fact that they are here, now. There is nothing to live for other than the experience of living. There is nothing that will save you that has not already saved you, there is nothing that will find you that hasn’t already found you. There is nothing to do, that hasn’t already been done. That is, there is no more to do on the path to remembrance, but there is much to do on the way back. Now that you have the tools necessary to observe the experience absolutely, you will be able to recognise expressions of The Awareness in everything.
After working very hard to break all facets of my preconceived reality, I had nothing left to do, and nothing left to lose. So I did nothing. I did not find nothing, I just gave up. I did not want to meditate and I did not want to live like a monk. I did, however, learn to love the experience I was a part of, because I understood that it was a miracle that I was even here.
Understandably, she was just as confused as I was. She asked me how I knew and I had no way of answering her. I knew that whatever happened, or whatever did not happen, was what some have referred to as the reaching of enlightenment, though it was the most anticlimactic experience of my entire life. At this point, I was just annoyed. It was as if I had immediate access to being aware of this infinite being, which simply was Awareness, but because it was unfathomable, I had no words to describe it.
“Nothing” was invisible, unfathomable, and hilarious. There was always nothing, yet I was too distracted by the something. I did not remember anything, but rather I remembered nothing. There is no better way to describe my experience other than to say it was non-experiential. Yet, the only word that comes close to describing the essence of this non-experiential phenomenon was love. It was unconditional love. All is unconditional love. All is love.
The very “something” you are searching for, is in the everything you had to forget. Yet, it was necessary that you learned to detach your physical self from the “I” that is aware, in order to observe the experience as a whole, rather than an experience that is subject to a physical being. You had to learn how to see the flower in the painting in the same way you see a flower in the garden, so that you can see another person in the experience in the same way you see yourself in the experience.
Although the reaching of enlightenment is paradoxical, in that there is no enlightenment that can be reached, it is possible to reach an understanding regarding the nature of The Awareness. Being able to recognise nothingness in my experience allowed The Knower to know nothing, and The Awareness to become aware of itself in the presence of nothing. Although I did not by any means become a master of meditation, I was able to use my rather peculiar ability of recognising abstractions in concepts and ideas to make apparent the synchronicity all things inevitably share.
The Expression is not something, nor is it nothing. There are no words to describe it, for the simple fact that words are created within it. The Expression is formless and cannot be described, only expressed. In the same way the experience is subject to The Knower, in that no thing within the experience could ever comprehend The Knower, The Expression is unfathomably unfathomable. The Knower cannot know The Expression. But if it cannot be known, can The Awareness be aware of The Expression?
In the process of recognising patterns and abstractions in all things, it is important to know what you cannot know. Now that you have transcended The Believer, The Knower and recognised yourself as The Awareness, it is easier to view the physical being within the experience as no more than a cog in a machine. A very convincing machine. Isn’t it convincing? The machine is the physical experience of the universe, and the cog is the physical being of which you are aware.
For the purpose of clarity, we have established that you are The Awareness, which is aware of all things. That is, you are aware of The Knower knowing the experience in which things may or may not exist. We have also established that you, The Awareness, are not able to do anything. You are not able to find, lose, remember, forget, do, not do, but you are only ever aware.
You are The Awareness, yet you are aware of the knowing of the experience in which a physical being exists. It is this physical being who is reading this sentence, yet I can also say that it is you who is reading this sentence, as long as you understand the distinction between being the physical being, which you are not, and being the awareness aware of a physical being. Should I ask you to find anything, understand that although The Awareness is incapable of finding, the physical being is able to search, allowing The Awareness to become aware of a physical being searching and finding.
It is helpful to use analogies in the recognition of no nothing and no something, for without analogies, The Expression can only ever express itself throughout an analytical mind. However, the mind does not always enjoy formulas and algorithms. The mind seeks the simplicity and creativity of art and expression. Although The Expression cannot and will not be understood, its essence can and will be uncovered and recognised. Because the essence of The Expression is comprehendible, in the sense that we are able to define its boundlessness and momentary nature, we are able to use examples within the experience to analogise concepts and ideas that would otherwise be too complicated to understand.
Upon learning to observe the experience from the perspective of no one, where no one is no where, you will find it is less likely to ever fall victim to the menace of doubt. In other words, since you are now recognising the experience, instead of believing that you are experiencing it, it is less likely that you will fall victim to the menace of doubt. As long as you are observing the physical being as the ocean observes a wave, you will be able to unlock a remarkable and natural ability. You will be able to tap into the very essence of this experience, allowing you to recognise the algorithmic nature of all things.
It is important to note that in the same way The Knower is subject to and can never know The Awareness, you will never know whether or not your interpretation of this experience is shared by anyone else. That is, you will never know if your “blue” is the same as someone else’s “blue”. Although you may both look at the sky and agree that it is in fact “blue”, you will never know if the other person’s “blue” looks like your “red”, and their “red” looks like your “blue”.
You are not the experience, nor are you the physical being who is limited by the lens through which they are able to see. You are The Awareness, yet you are aware of the knowing of the experience. In this experience, the physical being cannot know another physical being’s experience. The physical being cannot know another’s experience without first superimposing their own subjective interpretation upon it.
This is not a case against the possibility of a shared experience, but rather a reminder that it is impossible for me to know if my experience is the same as yours. In the same way, it is impossible for you to know if your experience is the same as another’s. What is known, is simply what is known. If you have come so far as to recognise the experience as no more than the knowing of an experience, then recognising that you do not know what you do not know should follow suit.
In the repetitive recognition of all things, it is important for the physical being to align themself with the nature of The Awareness, in that no judgements are made and no sentimentality is expressed. The experience should not be limited by any beliefs, assumptions or allusions. For example, in the event that four horses are being observed, the only revelation that should be taken from this experience is: the knowing of the experience in which four horses are being observed.
Put simply, what is recognised is the knowing of experience. Therefore, to put the experience of the horses simply, you could say that what is being observed is: four horses being observed. It may seem rather repetitive and monotonous to recognise inconsequential occurrences within the experience, without knowing why you are recognising at all. However, it is the consistent recognition of all things that will allow the expressions to become apparent.
On your way back inside, you close the envelope, and then you close the door. You pause for a moment and recognise that your experience has just expressed the abstraction of ‘closing a thing’. Although there is no meaningful connection between the closing of the envelope and the closing of the door, you observe the expression of a thing being closed in two instances. This is by no means a revolutionary discovery, so you do not dwell on your findings, but instead you choose to become more observant of your surroundings. Who knows what can be found! You choose to become more observant in the hope that you can recognise more abstractions that are being expressed within the experience.
Although you are not mesmerised by your ability to recognise repetitive expressions, you are intrigued by what can be uncovered regarding the patterns and the order in which things may or may not occur. To clarify, the abstraction of the ‘closing a thing’ is only one out of an infinite number of abstractions. Any thing and every thing that is able to be known in this experience can be abstracted. The only reason we are observing the experience is to form an understanding of what these abstractions mean and how to even find them.
However, although there are more interesting abstractions to recognise, it is important to note that all abstractions hold the same significance, for the simple reason that they are a part of the same knowing of experience. That is, should you recognise two instances of a bird and two instances of a stone, you must not quantify the significance of either abstraction, for the ability to quantify exists within the very experience you are trying to transcend.
Instead of quantifying or estimating the value or significance of a thing, observe it with the utmost objectivity your are capable of, accepting it as it is. If there are two instances of a bird and two instances of a stone, it holds true that there are two instances of a bird and two instances of a stone. Understand that since you are aware of the experience being known, it would make no sense to try and quantify any thing, for neither The Knower nor The Awareness has the ability to quantify.
Accordingly, neither The Knower nor The Awareness has the capacity to express sentimentality. Should sentimentality be expressed in the analysis of abstractions, you are simply aware of the knowing of the experience in which a physical being is experiencing sentimentality. Should sentimentality be expressed at all, the physical being is superimposing their ability to express sentimentality upon the nature of The Awareness, wherein lies the delusion. The delusion lies in the belief that The Awareness and The Knower have the capacity to be any thing other than aware and knowing, respectively.
Although I ask you to recognise and observe the experience, I do not intend to confuse you in regards to the capabilities of The Knower or The Awareness. The physical being should recognise and observe the experience, while being conscious of the essence of The Knower and the nature of The Awareness, so as to allow for the awareness of an experience unhindered by belief, bias, or sentimentality.
The Awareness is aware of The Knower, The Knower knows the experience, and the experience possesses the concept of abstractions.
The Awareness is aware of The Knower, The Knower knows the experience. The experience expresses within itself the 'closing a thing' abstraction, where the many expressions are represented by: door, curtains, drawer, eyelids, etc.
So far on your journey to the carnival, you have recognised two abstractions, ‘closing a thing’ and ‘change in direction’. The name or label given to an abstraction is irrelevant and does not need to be meaningful at all. The only thing an abstraction requires is your awareness of it. In the same way the physical being had to align themself with the nature of The Awareness, which is only ever aware, the physical being must now align their abstracting of the experience with the nature of The Awareness. In other words, the physical being will soon be able to relate all expressions of abstractions to the infinite, paradoxical, momentary and familiar nature of The Awareness.
Though these examples are simple, it is crucial to delve into the different abstractions the experience seems to express. This is important because once you become proficient in recognising expressions and the abstractions they are expressing, you will be required to once again, transcend. You will be required to transcend the abstractions by further abstracting them!
The Leprechaun in the experience expresses the abstraction of a Leprechaun. Accordingly, the Leprechaun is subject to the abstraction of a Leprechaun, and the abstraction of a Leprechaun is subject to an abstraction. What is an abstraction subject to?
In the same way the Leprechaun is subject to the abstraction of a Leprechaun, the abstraction of a Leprechaun is subject to an abstraction, an abstraction is subject to the experience and the experience is subject to… no thing. How can experience itself have an abstraction, if the very fabrication of the concept of abstraction exists only within the experience?
Once again, the paradoxical nature of The infinite Awareness is demonstrated through what seems to be finite concepts and ideas. Although there is no abstraction that could exist outside of the experience, the experience is subject to The Knower, to which it is known.
In the same way the Leprechaun is subject to the abstraction of a Leprechaun, the experience is subject to The Knower. Without the abstraction of a Leprechaun, the Leprechaun could never be. Similarly, without The Knower, the experience could never be known. If the abstraction of abstraction is experience, does that make the abstraction of experience no one? That is, the abstraction of experience is The Knower, and The Knower is no one, no thing, no where only ever knowing, now.
Because The Knower does not and cannot exist, it has both never been, and yet, it will forever be. In other words, The Knower knows, now, and now is forever. Within the infinite, formless forever, the experience is known. Within the infinite forever, the experience creates the concept of time within itself. The experience elongates the one, eternal moment of now, into what seems to be in a ‘time’ between the past and the future, but The Knower knows no past and no future. Within the formless forever, the experience creates the concept of space within itself, expanding the one, boundless whereabouts of here, into what only seems to be between no where and somewhere.
The experience is subject to The Knower, and is just as well a tiny expression of the infinite essence of The Knower, veiled in finite understanding. That is, though infinite concepts do exist within the experience, it is a form of infinity that is only able to be accepted, instead of being reached. Yet, The Knower is always reaching infinity, for The Knower is no where, now, meaning The Knower is infinitely no where and infinitely now.
The experience is an infinitesimally small expression of the essence of The Knower, where time is finite, things may or may not begin and end, and space is limiting. The abstraction of the experience is The Knower, yet The Knower is no thing, therefore it cannot be an abstraction. However, we must understand that since language exists within the experience, it superimposes the limitations bestowed upon it by the experience, on The Knower, disavowing any truths we may aim to find.
We must understand that although The Knower is no thing, and does not have the capacity of being an abstraction, since The Knower only ever knows, we must consciously remember and accept that it cannot be an abstraction. However, we are able to say that the experience expresses the infinite essence of The Knower, rather than The Knower itself. Instead of labelling no things, like The Knower and The Awareness, as abstractions, we can assume that they are being expressed by some thing. Therefore, it follows that the infinite essence of The Knower expresses The Knower, but what is The Knower expressing?
We have established that The Knower can never know itself, for it is no thing. Therefore, if The Knower tried to know itself, it would know nothing. What is The Knower expressing? Once again, we are faced with the issue of concepts from within the experience superimposing their limitations on what transcends the experience, namely The Knower. Yet, The Knower must be an expression of… well, not something and not nothing.
If there is no something and no nothing and no knowing, what remains? The Awareness! In the same way the experience is an expression of the infinite essence of The Knower, The Knower is an expression of the unfathomable nature of The Awareness. Without The Awareness, The Knower cannot be, for there will be no awareness of the knowing. Yet, without The Awareness, there is still The Awareness of no awareness. Therein lies the paradox! The unfathomable, ridiculous and infinite nature of The Awareness.
However, The Awareness is always aware of itself, even when it is not. The Awareness is both absolute and not absolute. The Awareness is, and is not. The Knower may be infinite, but it can neither know itself nor The Awareness. The Knower is subject to The Awareness, and in the same way, the experience is subject to The Knower. The Knower is an expression of the unfathomable nature of The Awareness, and in the same way, the experience is an expression of the infinite essence of The Knower.
Examples of expressions of the infinite essence of The Knower within the experience are eyes that cannot see themselves, seeing and hearing thoughts that cannot be seen nor heard and our inability to understand what cannot be understood. In the same way The Knower is knowing, a physical being within the experience is experiencing. At this point, it should become apparent that all things and all no things express the nature of what they are subject to.
All things are expressions, in that any thing within the experience is either expressing some thing or no thing. As we transcend the experience, we cannot label The Knower or The Awareness with an experiential concept, for they are not within the experience. Instead, we are able to deduce that the experience is an expression of the infinite nature of The Knower, and The Knower is an expression of the infinite, unfathomable and paradoxical nature of The Awareness.
You recognise that although there are multiple wooden horses, they are all moving in unison. In the same way, you recognise that although there are multiple wooden horses, some that look completely different, they are all a part of the same carousel, which unifies their dualistic nature. The carousel unifies the wooden horses in the same way The Knower knows one unified experience in which the concept of duality exists.
Though the immediate experiencing of a thing may not hold any significance or value, it is the abstraction of such experience that allows for a transcendental analysis. In this case, the unifying nature of the carousel is seen as an expression of the unifying nature of The Knower only ever knowing one experience, in which the abstraction of ‘two’ exists.
This inspires you to abstract your experience with the Ticket Seller, wherein you were told to ‘beware’, but beware of what? Regardless of how dangerous the carnival seemed, you decided that the fun far outweighed the terror. Though you understand the fright that can befall you, you are prepared to cast aside your peacefulness. But what does this mean? Why does it matter? The thought wanders from your mind.
In the same way that abstractions can forever be abstracted, The Knower always knows and The Awareness is always aware. In the same way abstractions can abstract abstractions recursively and forever, The Awareness is aware of The Awareness recursively and forever. You start to appreciate abstractions as a medium through which physical concepts and ideas can be expressed and related back to The Awareness, which all things express. Instead of only ever being aware of the knowing of the experience, you are now able to delve into the experience and use the concept of ‘abstracting’ to analyse and break apart, as well as unify, any and every concept and idea you may or may not come upon.
You look around until you find a wooden horse whose artistry you fancy, and you prepare yourself for the ride. As you climb upon the worthy steed, you understand that this is the wooden horse that you picked. This horse being picked was no coincidence. In the same way The Knower does not have the capacity to experience a coincidence, you have aligned your observation of the experience with the essence of The Knower and the nature of The Awareness. You have aligned yourself, in that though you may believe you are experiencing a coincidence, what is happening is simply happening.
After several rounds on the carousel, the ride ends and you walk away rather unimpressed with the experience, but elated with the revelations uncovered. As you continue exploring the carnival, you realise that your decision to observe the experience of the carousel allowed for a wondrous revelation. This revelation was that infinite and cyclical things are able to be observed finitely. That is, you allowed yourself, by deciding to ride the wooden horse, to recognise the abstraction of ‘observing a cyclical thing’.
Without The Knower to know this experience, it could not be known. Yet, without The Awareness, there can be no awareness of The Knower. You understand that deciding to ride the carousel allowed you to further express the ‘observing a cyclical thing’ abstraction, in the same way The Knower knowing this experience allowed you to exist within it. That is, purposely or unconsciously expressing a specific abstraction allowed for the abstraction to reverberate throughout your experience, expressing itself in some way or another.
You recognise that the little Leprechaun playing with its dominos for no reason is an expression of the infinite and non-reasoned nature of The Awareness. It is only aware because… it is aware! In the same way, The Knower is knowing the experience for no reasonother than the knowing of experience. You find a correlation between the concept of ‘fun’ and the non-reasoned nature of The Knower and The Awareness. What is the purpose of having fun, if not for the purpose of having fun?
You recognise the ‘exploring something until you reach a high point of understanding’ abstraction. The first expression of it being the entire experience at the carnival thus far, and the second expression being your ability to recognise ambiguous and repetitive abstractions throughout their many expressions! You understand that you deciding to go to the carnival allowed you to both reach a higher physical recognition of the carnival, as well as reach a higher metaphysical recognition of your experience.
What is so spectacular about the recognition of abstractions and reverberations? What is so special about being able to recognise abstractions from the expression of any thing? What is so great about being able to correlate abstractions within the experience to the essence of The Knower or the nature of The Awareness?
You recognised the experience from the knowing of The Knower, and The Knower from the awareness of The Awareness. Yet, in the recognition of The Believer, The Knower and The Awareness, you were only ever one. That is, in the beginning you were one physical being believing. Then, you were The Knower knowing. Finally, you recognised yourself as The Awareness, which is only ever aware.
In the recognition of The Awareness, you were able to observe the nature of The Awareness, which was infinite, paradoxical, illogical and unfathomable. However, you also understood that there was no separation in awareness, but only one awareness of the knowing of an experience in which dual concepts exist.
You realise that seeing is but one expression of knowing, coupled with the expression of hearing, smelling, touching and tasting. As erratic thoughts seize your mind, you realise that they too are expressions of the knowing. Yet, regardless of all the different expressions of knowing, both physical and of the mind, you understand that this experience is one expression of the knowing. You cannot see duality anymore, but only a unified experience. There is no more something and no more nothing, only this.
You recognise parallel growth in both the anticipation of the rope walk and your disorderly excitement. The closer they near the rope, the closer you are to seeing them walk the rope. The closer you are to seeing them walk the rope, the closer The Knower is to knowing the experience in which a fellow walks a rope. The closer The Knower is to knowing the experience in which a fellow walks a rope, the closer The Awareness is to be aware of a fellow who walks a rope. You remember that you are aware, yet in the awareness you are able to abstract expressions within one moment of the experience, infinitely.
You might have two legs to walk, but you can balance on one. You might have two eyes to look, but you can see with one. You might have two ears to listen, but you can hear with one. You might experience fear, but you can find peace. You might experience hate, but you can love again. You might experience depression, but you can find joy.
In the same way the mime has the potential to express itself infinitely in the emptiness of space, The Awareness has shown to express itself, infinitely, in the presence of nothingness. In the same way you are able to assume the storyline the mime is suggesting, you are able to assemble patterns and reoccurring abstractions and expressions veiled in ambiguity. In the same way you are able to assemble patterns and reoccurring abstractions and expressions veiled in ambiguity, The Knower knows the experience from no where.
In the same way The Knower knows the experience from no where, The Awareness is aware of The Knower from no where. In the same way The Awareness is aware of The Knower from no where. The Awareness is aware of The Awareness from no where. In the same way The Awareness is aware of The Awareness from no where, The Awareness is aware of The Awareness from no where. You get the point.
You are entertained by the mime, though their props are nothing and their whereabouts are no where. Yet, The Awareness is no thing and no where, aware of The Knower, which is also no thing and no where, knowing the experience in which a mime performs with no thing, no where. The mime is a paradoxical expression of how nothing and no where can be expressed with something and somewhere. You start to realise that should you explore all situations, you might be able to find countless expressions of The Awareness.
How are all things seemingly expressing The Awareness? How are all things seemingly expressing? How are all things expressing? How? You are baffled by the obvious expressions and amused by their ambiguity. Upon leaving the circus, you wander aimlessly till you come upon the Haunted House. You never even thought of going inside, but what is the worst that can happen? You finally understand that any thing that happens within the experience can neither harm nor touch you, The Awareness, although it may cause quite a scare.
However, The Knower knows the experience in which you are, thus making The Knower the very no thing that is always finding you. Through The Knower knowing the experience, the experience has found you, and you are always here and now. You are only here and now. Yet, The Awareness being aware of The Knower, allows for the experience to find you, and since The Awareness is infinitely aware of itself, The Awareness is infinitely searching and finding you.
The simple fact that you are always here, and that you are also searching for yourself, means that whenever you are here, you will be found. However, when you find yourself, you will find the search you have embarked on, throwing you into the same search that allowed you to find yourself. The experience has now become apparent, that all things are either searching, or being found.
The Piece-Keeper saw the infinite nature of The Awareness and how the formless concept of infinity is expressed throughout its experience. The Piece-Keeping Leprechaun understood that it could not comprehend the unfathomable nature of infinity, for it was infinite. However, it was able to recognise the expressions of infinity, and realised that all Piece-Keepers are experiencing their own version of the domino planet. Although their experience may be unique, it is The Awareness that is always aware. All the Piece-Keepers became one expression of the infinite nature of The Awareness.
Until the inevitable becoming of nothing, find abstractions and expressions of yourself, as well as all aspects of the experience. It is likely that you have read this book with a sober mind. Should you find yourself in a different state of consciousness or a different level of awareness, make use of such an opportunity by finding abstractions and their many expressions. Should you find yourself in a state of sadness or joy, excitement or boredom, try to understand the experience from the perspective of The Awareness, instead of the perspective of a physical being.
The character on Carnival Island and the Piece-Keeper who remembered both abstracted the majority of their experience, and found expressions of the nature of The Awareness. The stories used to demonstrate the process by which one may abstract and find expressions in all things should only be used as examples. You must carefully observe and abstract all aspects of the experience of which you are aware and find expressions and reverberations in all things.
Do not assume a thing to be insignificant or unworthy of your time. Treat every thing with the same respect. Treat every thing with the same attention. Understand that whatever it is you are aware of, is what you are. That is, should you become aware of yourself in the mirror, you are aware of the knowing of the experience of looking into a mirror. You are the awareness of the knowing. Similarly, should you become aware of a single butterfly, you are aware of the knowing of the experience of a butterfly. You are the awareness of the butterfly.
How could the knowing of a butterfly be less significant than the knowing of a mirror, if it is the same awareness being aware of both the butterfly and the mirror? Treat every knowing of an experience with the same respect and attention. Treat every knowing of a person with the same love and devotion. Treat every knowing of a situation with the same recognition and mindfulness. Treat every knowing of yourself with the same compassion and understanding.
In the same way, do not assume the knowing of any specific individual is less or more significant than the knowing of another. If you are aware of the knowing of someone, do not disregard their presence within the experience. Try to understand why they are to the experience what they are to the experience. If the feeling of disassociation arises, use the opportunity to abstract the feeling of disassociation. If the feeling of familiarity arises, use the opportunity to abstract the familiarity of being aware. Whatever the experience, always abstract the situations within until there is nothing left to abstract.
Should you know the experience in which a great sadness or pain has become, battle through the aching and abstract every aspect of every observation. Understand how the abstractions you recognise are expressing the nature of The Awareness. If pain appears, try to understand where it is appearing. If pain appears, try to understand to whom it is appearing. Is it appearing to the physical being, or The Awareness? If you are able to withstand the pain and live to tell the tale, what could this resilience possibly express?
Whenever you are abstracting the experience and the many expressions within, understand that you are only ever aware, now. Wherever you are abstracting the experience and the many expressions within, understand that you are only ever aware, here. Do not let your wavering mind lead you on this journey. Always remember why you are abstracting. In other words, remember that you are abstracting all aspects of your experience to recognise the relationship between the many expressions and the nature of The Awareness.
You do not have to abstract the concepts and ideas within the experience using any specific technique. You know yourself better than anyone, so only you will know the easiest way for you to abstract and understand complex concepts and ideas. Always remember that when you are finding expressions that express the nature of the Awareness, you are finding expressions of yourself, not some separate entity. Remember you are The Awareness that is only ever aware, now, here, because.
This is all here, for you. If not for you, then who is it for? Is the story not subject to the physical being? Is the physical being not subject to the experience? Is the experience not subject to The Knower? Is The Knower not subject to The Awareness? Are you not The Awareness? The story you know is the story you know. The body you have is the body you have. Everything you know is everything you know and what you do not know is what you do not know. All that you are aware of is all that you are aware of.
How far away are these words from you? Where are you looking from? You cannot be looking from your eyes if you are aware that you have eyes. Where are these words and where are you? How convincing the experience is to make you believe that should you close your eyes, you will see nothing. Yet, you are still seeing. When you close your eyes, where are you looking from?
Do not search for this place, because it cannot be found. Do not search for this place, because you are here! However, look into your experience from this whereabouts, because you are speaking to yourself.
It is this very notion, that all things are only ever searching and finding, that we have been trying to explore through abstractions and their expressions. Instead of only entertaining stories of Carnival Island and Piece-Keeping Leprechauns, the time has come to entertain the reality of life. The time has come to find abstractions and expressions within your experience of experience.
Should you experience the unfortunate phenomenon that is heartbreak, see the love that was lost as an expression of the first moment you ever opened your eyes and became alive. See the pain of having lost a loved one as the sacrifice you, The Awareness, had to make in order to forget, only so that you could remember once again, even after you believed there was nothing to remember.
Interpret every feeling of sorrow, joy or pain as the experience of having lost or gained the remembrance of The Awareness. Interpret every single thing in every single sentence from the perspective of The Awareness, and remember what you know of the nature of The Awareness. You will see the obvious relationship, you will find the obvious truth, you will remember the unforgettable story that is you.
The innuendo is in all things, but it is up to you to find It. The previous chapter explored the exploration of abstractions and their many expressions. In the pursuit of finding the innuendo, the aim is to find a relationship between the experience and you, The Awareness.
There is no enlightenment that can be reached that hasn’t already been reached. You will not know any more than what is already known. The separation of The Awareness and what is known will vanish and all that will remain is the long forgotten knowing of an experience that is simply being.
Many years have passed since the day you visited the annual carnival. Though you remember the reaching of enlightenment, you have forgotten what was found. The experience is illusive and distracting, enough to make you forget the meaning you had already found, again.
The intensity of the score matches perfectly the passion of your emotion. The hurried embrace of a hundred violins, the rhythmic plucking of the harp and the rest of the orchestra that bring it together imitate your rapid thoughts and analysis of the melody, the rhythmic pattern through which your realisation was illustrated and the awareness of it all that allowed you to see. You understand that it is inevitable, like the certainty of life and death. You recognise the orchestra as the expression of your experience, and your experience the expression of you.
You realise that the abstraction of the patterns in your thoughts are parallel to the score of the orchestra. Your experience is seen as one expression of the theatrics you have long admired. Not only does the score of the orchestra match the patterns of your thoughts, but also the abstraction of your progress of self discovery.
You understand there is nothing more to understand. You experience the knowing of nothingness, and finally see the humour in knowing nothing at all. You relax, take a deep breath, and accept everything as it is. The final note silences the stage, and obviously, your thoughts follow suit and disappear. You awaken, though in the awakening you realise you were only ever awakening.
The tears you experience are not the result of having reached enlightenment, but the only possible response to what can be referred to as the ultimate remembrance. You were able to see that even though you may not have been aware of it, the light was always there with you in the dark. In a witty, slapstick kind of way, it was always there, even if you couldn’t see it, although you always saw. It was disguised in the unfathomable abstraction of “nothingness”, laughing with you as you experienced one of its many expressions.
Since your first visit to the annual carnival, you have become quite an explorer of abstractions and their many expressions. You are well aware that the experience is comprised of countless abstractions expressed throughout both the physical, and of the mind. You also realise that absolutely all things allude to The Awareness. That is, all things allude to the paradoxical, infinite, present and impossible nature of The Awareness. You understand that although you are not able to accurately express the absolute nature of The Awareness, you can express… its expressions!
The expressions of the The Awareness are the formless abstractions, and the experience is the expression of formless abstractions, and the expression of the experience is… the experience! In the same way The Awareness is aware of the Awareness, the experience is an expression of the experience. You are able to find ridiculous, yet extremely obvious, similarities within your awareness. What started as the recognition of multiple instances of an abstraction has become a convoluted, yet understandable, set of patterns, concepts and ideas. You understand the nature of how all things are within the experience, but what if you could also understand the nature of how all things could be?
What is apparent now? The multiple expressions expressing the abstraction of ‘withering’ are apparent now, within the experience. You already know that it is important to stray away from the notion of sentimentality throughout the recognition of all the expressions. That is, all expressions of the abstraction of ‘withering’ must be recognised with the same apathy so as to not exaggerate the physical being’s illusory self-importance over the experience. All things within the experience hold exactly the same meaning, or exactly the same lack of meaning.
Instead of believing that you are a physical being, abstracting an experience, understand that you are only aware of the knowing of an experience in which a physical being believes. You are aware of an experience in which a physical being believes they are self-governing and not another expression of an abstraction.
Before applying anything, you must know what it is you are applying to. Should you want to influence a withering experience to express the abstraction of ‘growing’ as opposed to the abstraction of ‘withering’, you must find as many expressions expressing the abstraction of ‘withering’. In other words, you must concentrate on the experience, and search for all situations, things or expressions alluding to the abstraction of ‘withering’. Whether it be a withering garden, a withering fence, a withering house, a withering state of mind or a withering experience, you must be aware of these expressions, for they are most important.
As long as there are expressions of an abstraction, the abstraction will continue to be expressed, or reverberated, throughout the experience. This means that as long as there are expressions expressing the abstraction of ‘withering’, the experience will continue to express, or reverberate, the abstraction of ‘withering’. Does this mean that you are doomed with whatever abstractions are present in your experience?
Even if you are unable to find expressions of the abstraction of ‘growing’ within the physical experience, you are able to find a thought expressing the abstraction of ‘growing’. This is done, of course, by using your imagination. By “using” your imagination, I mean knowing the experience of thought, in which imagination is entertained. Within imagination, any thing can be expressed, of course within the confines and limitations of thought. That is, you are able to imagine absolutely anything you are able to imagine.
If your experience is festering with expressions of ‘withering’, and you are unable to find any physical expression expressing the abstraction of ‘growing’, do not underestimate the power of imagination. Even if there is no physical expression of ‘growing’, you are still able to imagine a thing that is growing. You are able to imagine the expression of a thing, expressing the abstraction of ‘growing’.
The imagination, or knowing of a thought, is not more or less significant than the knowing of a physical experience. Similarly, the knowing of a thought expressing the abstraction of ‘growing’, is not more or less significant than the knowing of a physical experience in which a thing is expressing the abstraction of ‘growing’. The Knower cannot know significance, but rather The Knower knows the experience in which a thing may or may not be deemed more or less significant than another thing.
What does it cost the physical being to exist within the experience in which a beautiful garden belongs? What did it cost the physical being to exist within the experience in which a withering garden belonged? What did it cost the physical being to exist within the experience at all? The physical being is not able to escape the expressiveness of the experience, for without the experience, the physical being could not be. In other words, if the experience expressed the abstraction of ‘withering’, and the physical being is subject to the experience, they too will inevitably express the abstraction of ‘withering’.
The physical being will express whatever the experience is expressing, inevitably. That is, unless the physical being is willing to go against the grain. In other words, the physical being will express whatever the experience is expressing, unless they are willing to contradict the experience’s current disposition. If the experience is expressing the abstraction of ‘withering’, displeasing the physical being, the physical being is able to force themself to express the abstraction of ‘growth’ within the experience.
The physical being must express the abstraction of ‘growth’ in any instance of the experience which evidently expresses the abstraction of ‘withering’. This is no easy feat, as the whole experience will be against you, until it is not. The whole experience will be against you, as you will be against it. If you are displeased with its current withering disposition, or whichever abstraction it is so prevalently expressing, you must do what you can to create or influence as many instances as possible, wherein the abstraction of ‘growth’ is expressed.
The experience is the ocean and the expressions are the waves. If you laid motionless in the water, you would be moved with the tide. Yet, you are able to swim against the waves and against the tide. Sometimes, the waves will be stronger and more powerful than others, and the tide more insistent.
In the same way, if you laid motionless in the experience, you would inevitably express the experience’s current disposition. Yet, you are able to go against the experience’s current disposition, by finding instances that express such disposition, and doing what you can to transform them into expressions of your preferred abstraction. There will be hurdles and obstacles you will need to overcome before transforming the abstraction these instances express. Sometimes, these hurdles and obstacles will be unforgiving and more resilient than others, and the experience unpredictable.
The experience is the reigning champion, and you are the challenger. The experience will do whatever it is able to, in order to maintain its current disposition. However, the experience will allow you to challenge it, before it allows you the results you desperately desire. You must defeat the experience before it is able to show you any ounce of respect, whether it be in bounds of fortune, perfect health or any thing you may desire.
The experience is neither good nor evil, it is simply the experience. The concepts of good and evil are subject to the experience, so the experience cannot be either. The experience’s only desire is to express its current disposition, as it has no reason to express anything else. Will you give it a reason? The experience will use any means possible to deny you of the expressions you desire to express. What if the abstraction you are trying to influence on the experience is chaotic? What if the abstraction you are trying to influence on the experience is impossible?
The experience is unforgiving, relentless and will always attempt to out-wit you and any tricks you might have. However, the experience is merciful to those who choose to express its current disposition. In other words, if you do not try to influence the experience or try to change the abstraction it is expressing, it will leave you alone. That is, you will be unscathed, for you are not a threat to its current disposition, so it has no reason to go against you. However, if you do not go against the experience, you may grow old, but you will never grow.
Should you have stayed inside, day after day, not at all putting in the effort to improve your garden, the experience would have remained the same, unchanged. That is, the experience in which a withering garden belongs. Even if you had not put in any effort at all and imagined or desired the expression of the abstraction of ‘growth’, no thing would have changed. To change any thing within the experience, you must express some thing within the experience to influence change.
What is the purpose of the experience challenging you at all? The purpose is for the purpose of the experience challenging you, and that is all. The purpose is for the purpose of finding your own purpose, and that is all. The experience is you! As much as you are aware of the physical being, you are aware of the physical world. Do not fall for the illusion of perspective, in that you can see the physical world from the perspective of a physical being’s eyes. Understand that all you are aware of is the knowing of experience. Yet, this experience is you.
The experience is where the physical being exists. The physical being is an isolated focus of the experience. In other words, the physical being is the experience. The physical being is the experience whose physical expressions and physical abstractions are superimposed by the physical being’s interpretation. Yet, it remains that the physical being cannot be anything other than the experience itself. A single wave in the ocean is a single wave in the ocean, yet it remains a part of the ocean.
That is, if you express the expression of ‘waiting for something’, the experience will also express the expression of ‘waiting for something’. You will be waiting for the experience, and the experience will be waiting… for you! You must only express what you know will get you further on your journey within the experience.
The experience will always express what you want it to, because you are the experience, but you must overcome whatever obstacles the experience imposes. Instead of believing that you are destined for greatness and waiting for greatness to happen, express greatness within the experience, and prove to the experience that you are worthy. Of course, the definition of “greatness” is subjective, so you must know what it is you are trying to achieve, before you are able to express it within the experience.
You understand that influencing the experience by expressing abstractions will allow you to experience what you desire, but you are yet to unlock the boundless capabilities of expression. You decide to visit an old friend, the fortune telling Oracle from the haunted house! The Oracle is still at the carnival in the city centre, and your visit is long overdue. You remember the balcony beneath the purple skies. You remember your rememberance. You remember that you are not a character in a story , but the reader. You are The Awareness of a character in a story.
You understand that you express yourself throughout the experience in the way that you are, and the Stonemason expresses themself throughout the experience in the way that the Stonemason is, yet both you and the Stonemason are expressing. You are expressing formless abstractions, that have taken the form of your individual, respective experiences. You are only ever expressing. You are always expressing. Everything and everyone is expressing.
As the Stonemason rambles on, you finally realise what you lack. You lack knowledge of this experience. Though you understand the nature of the experience and its expression of the formless abstractions, you will not grow within the experience unless you know what to express, and how to express it. Simply understanding that you have the capacity to express is not enough, for this experience rewards knowledge.
All you know is all you know. All you know is this. Whatever you know right now, in this moment, is all you have ever known. How could you possibly know any more? Ask. Explore. Discover. Create. This experience rewards knowledge, but allows you complete and ultimate control over how you find it. Who can you ask? Whoever knows something you would like to learn. When can you ask them? Now.
You realise that the experience was always here so that you could experience it. The most obvious thing to do within the experience… is experiencing! Yet, at times it may feel like there is no more hope, and no more reason. It may feel like there is no purpose strong enough to keep you interested in the experience of experience. Fortunately, you have seen both a withering experience, and an experience of growth. You have seen the good and the bad. You have seen and you have not seen. You have and you have not. You have known and you have not known. You know that there is purpose within the finding of purpose. In other words, you know there is purpose within the experiencing of experience.
While the merchant and the thief bump and shove the folk in the bazaar, you ogle at the absurdity that the thief would steal from themself! The thief is expressing what the merchant is expressing, yet they are in conflict, how ridiculous! The merchant sludges after the thief and you realise that in the same way infinity is a point that can never be reached, the merchant will never catch up to the thief. You laugh at the fact that though the experience is the it that the thief “cannot” take, for it cannot be taken, there it goes, being taken. You are entertained by the paradoxical nature of The Awareness’ expression within the knowing of a petty heist.
You realise that although this journey is a lonely road, once you find yourself you will never be alone again. You understand that every physical being that exists within the experience is necessary, simply because they are here. They are here, expressing… something. They are here expressing something, and whether or not you ever find out what their 'something’ is, depends on your desire to approach them. Have you found your ‘something’ yet?
The Awareness does not have the capacity to experience fear, nor does it have the capacity to judge an experience, for it does not have the capacity to remember any experience. The Awareness is simply aware. The Awareness is being aware of all things. The Awareness does not discriminate, nor does it “prefer” one experience over another. The Awareness is simply aware.
What does this chapter of your experience look like? What does the next chapter of your experience look like? What did the first chapter of your experience look like? What will the last chapter of your experience look like? You are pleased with the realisation of expressions and the meanings they hold. The meanings that technically are self-dependant. That is, the purpose of writing a story is to write a story. Just as well, the purpose of reading a story is to read a story. Paradoxically, the purpose of writing a story is so that it can be read, and the purpose of reading a story, is because it was written.
You are at peace with the fact that although the experience is filled with conflict, paradoxes, confusions and distractions, it is a perfect expression. That is why magicians make something appear from nothing, or something completely disappear. That is why it is impossible to be right or wrong, for the only thing you can be, is yourself, here, now. Anything else you may believe you are is believed within the experience, which is filled with expressions, expressing the nature of you, The Awareness, which cannot believe.
You realise that your unwillingness to return to the carnival is an expression of your unwillingness to return. You are not ready to return. You are not ready to close the book. You are not ready to finish the story of you. You understand that all things within your experience that remind you of the state of unpleasantness, are simply expressing your unwillingness to die. Similarly, you understand that all things within your experience that remind you of the state of pleasure, are simply expressing your willingness to keep going.
“You are here because you are here! You have remembered because you have remembered! You may not want to suffer, but others might. You may not want to experience pain, but others might. You may not want to experience sorrow, but others might. You may not want, but others might.”
You would not want to experience the story, and still want to know how it ends. You realise there are others who would enjoy reading the book, without knowing what happens when the story ends. You realise there are others who would choose to stop reading completely, before the story even finishes. You realise there are others who would keep reading, regardless of how terrifying the story might be. You realise that your remembering is simply you, The Awareness, finding out what ‘happens’ in the end. Yet, here you are, waiting to see what happens in the end.
“I understand that the reason I am able to love is not because of my remembering, but the experience in which I am able to love. I understand that the reason I am able to find is not because of my remembering, but the experience in which I am able to find. I understand that the reason I am able to help is not because of my remembering, but the experience in which I am able to help. I understand that my remembering is a gift that I cannot give, for it cannot be given, though it can be expressed.”
“Although The Scientist’s purpose is to find and demonstrate the truths of the universe, The Scientist also faces countless contradictions that will inevitably intervene in the pursuit of truth. Although The Scientist is always trying to further advance the understandings of the experience, The Scientist can never escape the experience they are trying to explain. Although The Scientist’s purpose is to find truth, they are afraid of becoming lost on the way.”
You realise that regardless of what The Preacher and The Scientist believe, they are believing. They are believing, but The Awareness cannot be believed in, for it is no thing that can be believed. Regardless of what The Preacher and The Scientist are searching for, they are searching. They are searching, but The Awareness cannot be found, for it is no where to be found. Regardless of what The Preacher and The Scientist are trying to experience, they are experiencing. They are experiencing, but The Awareness cannot be experienced, for the experience is subject to The Awareness. The experience is subject to The Awareness and can never know The Awareness.
“The Jester believes in the power of laughter, in that it can cure the deepest sorrows. The Jester believes that self worth is dependant on whether or not others are entertained. The Jester believes that ridiculous physical expression is necessary for the expression of comedy. The Jester believes that they belong in the limelight, wherein they are able to make crowds upon crowds roar with laughter. The Jester believes in the importance of ridiculousness, and takes pride in their comical approach toward the experience of life.”
“The Governor who superimposes their own experience on everyone else’s? The Governor who superimposes their own obstacles on everyone else’s? The Governor who superimposes their own beliefs on everyone else? The Governor who superimposes their own doubts on everyone’s right to question? The Governor who superimposes their own fears on everyone else’s limitations? Do you mean to question the Governor who superimposes or the Protestor who opposes?”
“The Prosperous who has everything or the Pauper who has nothing? The Prosperous who expresses fortune and experience or the Pauper who expresses poverty and hardships? The Prosperous who believes that freedom is more valuable or the Pauper who believes that wealth is freedom? The Prosperous who assumes the incompetency of the Pauper, or the Pauper who assumes the corruption of the Prosperous?”
“Could you also stack all of the crates above one another? Could you wipe down the marble bench and the window panes? Could you make sure not to leave the crates lying around carelessly? Could you make sure that the books are placed and sorted carefully? Could you make sure that the customer’s experience of this book shop is extremely pleasant, rather than subpar and inconvenient?”
Apologetically, the Apprentice stutters “I-I understand. What can I do to make the customer’s experience more pleasant? What can I do to make the customer’s experience more convenient?” This is the question you’ve been waiting to answer, and you do so as if you never expected anyone to ask it. “Well, let me think about it… You must make your own experience of the shop more pleasant. You must make your own experience of the shop more convenient!”
However, I understand if you do not want to write a book. Would you rather paint a picture? Would you rather sing a song? Would you rather dance a dance? How would you like to express your experience of the room? How would you like to express your experience of this life? How would you like to express your experience? How would you like to express? How?
